David lived a fearless and courageous life. He entered the Marine Corps at a young age and spent a year deployed in Viet Nam. He was one of the lucky ones who came home, however, there were those silent scars.

He then joined the Los Angeles Fire Department fighting fires and saving lives for 30 years before retiring. During his time with the LAFD,  and a member of the FEMA Team, he and the other team members were sent to New York on 9/11 spending about twelve days searching for survivors.

His life choices and dedication to helping took their toll but he had no regrets. He truly was a modern-day hero.
