When the community around us steps up to support our efforts, it’s really special. The Harold McAlister Charitable Foundation recently granted us $25,000 to use in our support of UCLA’s Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care program, and to help us raise awareness in Southern California.
What a generous gift! And it’s not the first time, either. The Foundation previously granted us $10,000 for the same purpose.
We are so very grateful to their Board members. And so happy to be able to continue to make a difference by supporting this invaluable service for demenia patients and their families.
The Foundation website features a quote by James Baldwin: “We are responsible for the world in which we find ourselves, if only because we are the only sentient force which can change it.” That sounds like the principle that drives us at r2endalz, and also the team at UCLA.

The UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program is nationally recognized and grant-funded. It’s designed to help patients and their families with the complex medical, behavioral and social needs associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. For patients and caregivers, the program is a lifeline, providing emotional, educational, and medical support as they navigate a difficult journey.
Dementia care specialists work with UCLA primary care doctors to develop and implement care plans that are personalized for each patient, focusing on maintaining independence and dignity, while also working with caregivers to focus on their needs as well.
The UCLA ADC program serves as a model for facilities across the country, as our population ages and the need continues to escalate.
The folks at McAlister clearly recognize the value of the program and the commitment of supporters like you to fund the care and find a cure.
Thanks to them, and thanks to you, too.
